features of information system
divided onto 5:
1. data - raw information
- store in logical way such as email
- so you can use it in the future
- data is being summered to create information.
2. people- involve in capturing and exploiting the information
- specific people
- this people need to know who is interchange of capturing the information, in order to extract the information form it.
3. Hardware - equipment use to manage the software.
- MIS (Management Information System) may run the sales or finance director's PC.
- involve computer (small organization)
- involve server (large organization)
4. software - the simplest MIS can be built using standard software.
- can be expensive when it is buy separately
- program that is build inside the computer.
5. telecommunication - the internet
- to communicate with other people.
- in order to secure information need to have firewall to protect the in going data.
Function of information system
1. input - data
- the system already know what to do with it (automatic)
- you are the one that control the output (manual)
2. storage - data is being stored
-to be used in the future or backup.
3. processed - data turn on to information
4. output - it is an outcome which can be this 2 format :
a. graphical is everything visual(charts, diagram, pictures)
b. textual - is information containing text (is best where it is important to analyze the detail &to know exact value. )
