Marriot Starwood hacking Exposes Data of Up 500 Million Guest

- data being exposed was the customer's passport numbers.  
- over 300 million guests stayed from 2014 was being exposed.
- the hacker uses the guest's information to his advantage by using someone else ID to open fraudulent accounts in their name.

advantages of having security 

-theft prevention
-build user confidence 
-protecting personal information
-real-time monitoring
-protect from virus

disadvantages of not having a security system 

- steal data that can lead to business loss
- anyone can use the system
- duplication of data
- data can be permanently loss


4. how to prevent unauthorized access 

- having a strong security password by using Bio-metrics, swipe card and etc.
- monitoring the CCTV
- provide a personal IP address
- use 2-factor authentication such as thumbprint and face lock
