Good Information

Good information is commonly used for business purpose example on making a desition

there are 11 characteristics of good information: 

1. Valid - valid means true base in logic or fact.
example: registration form, in which it gives the true information of someone.

2. Reliable - the information given is consistency and good in quality or performance, in a simpler way it is a type of information that is able to be trusted.
example: newspaper information which it gives trusted information to the peoples. 

3. Timely Information "Current Information" - means spreading the information in real time. (available to be used)
Example: getting live information on a subject on a live news channel.


example of information in the organization: the manager need the information of the October sales, so only the information of sales in October only will be given and no need for the employee go back to find the information from the past.


4. Fit-for-Purpose -  is a common term of describing the ideal level of information. that is needed. in which it indicates the quality of the information can only be defined in term of the aim of an organization individual or set of individuals.

Example: a market research company giving the right information that their manager need which is the price of the product of other competitors. 





5. Accessible - the information should be easy or obtain to access anywhere such as information from the book, website. 
Example: a web application for the tourists 


In organization example: is the BIBD bank, which it can be accessed anytime by the user. the information needed is the user ID card. or debit card. 



6. Cost-effective - making sure the information is good, in a good value (save cost) where the benefit and usage are worth at least what it paid for them. 
Example: in a situation, the manager of a Coffee bean cafe hire someone to get information about what their competitors are selling (Cafe de Paris)  

above vision demonstrates a fit-For-purpose information. the block plays the character of the information needed. and the box playing the role for it.

in organization example: I own the company and I pay the employee, they need to do their job properly. (getting the right information from the employee or the command researcher)



7. Sufficiently accurate - making sure the information is perfect. (correct)
example: newspaper information which it gives exact information to the peoples. 


Example inside of an organization: the example I am the owner of the restaurant then the manager give me the information about the restaurant (that need to be signed by other employees)...to know the information is right because a lot of people agreed with the information. 


8. Relevant - the information must make sense and suitable. (logic/related)
Example: the manager wants to know the opinion on the relative price of the product and its rival. and the market research gives the exact information that is needed for the manager.

9. The "right level of detail"  - information should be in a form that is short enough to let for its examination and uses. It is a type of information that is only focused on the information with no extra added information.  
Example: the admin asks the student to fill in the "students form".


example of information in the organization: employees make sure the information in detail and what manager wants from them should be there. 


10. From a source in which the user has confident - get information from trusted
The example in an organization: from a source where the user has confident. such as getting information from the internal or inside information department.



11. Understandable by the user - information is not complicated, the information need to be understood.

Example: newspaper, where the information is organized and can be understood by the reader.
for example in an organization: the college has given a timetable to each of the student and lecture, and it is well organized which will be easy for them to follow the rule and they can understand the information given.
